Yesterday we poured our slab for the house. It was such a long day! We got there around 7:00 and meet the finishers, the concrete man and the inspector. Once the pour got underway, I was sent out to go get the "stamp" and color for our back porch.
I was not very happy about driving all over town...in fact I was pretty pissed off. But the outcome was all worth it. On the back porch and the front porch, we stained the concrete a brownish color and stamped it to look like stones. It looks really nice! Since we had extra color, Brad also decided to stain the garage as well. We didn't do the stamp on it of course.
After a busy morning, I got to watch the process of the slab work. It is amazing how everything comes together and how 10 men can work on the same house at once. They all know what to do without being told. I guess they have done this a time or two! Although the men were working fast, we still did not get out of there until 6:15 that night. Needless to say, I was exhausted!
The next step is framing the house. That will start on Thursday and be done the weekend after Thanksgiving. More pictures to come!
