This past weekend we had the Knight Family Reunion. On Saturday morning I got up around 4:00 to take a shower and finish packing. I was very proud of Brad, because he even got up about 4:45 to help me load the car. Our goal was to leave the house by 5:45 so we could stop and get gas and be in Conroe at 7:00. Just to let everyone know...we were pulling out of our driveway at 5:46. We are too good huh???
The plan was to just eat breakfast with the family once we got to Conroe, but Peanut had other plans. About 6:30 we were almost to Conroe, but I just had to stop and get something to eat. I was starving! So, we pulled into McDonalds so I could eat a sausage biscuit. Probably not the best thing in the world to eat, but it sure was good! :)
Once we got to Conroe, the family wasn't quite ready. But, after a few minutes we were on the road.
The road trip to East Texas wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was expecting it to be a little shorter than it was ( and it might have been if my dad didn't take 2 wrong turns...) but overall, it was quite pleasant.
After about 4 hours of driving, we were FINALLY in Longview. It was nice to see everyone on my dad's side of the family....even if I didn't know half of them. At several different times, I had people come up to me and introduce themselves and then process to tell me just how they were related to me. I have heard a lot of their names, but there was no way I could actually put a face to that name. But, it was nice to see my dad visit with all of his family. And really, that is what we went for.
We had thought about staying over night in Longview, but decided that we would drive home so we could have the whole day on Sunday to relax. That meant for a REALLY LONG Saturday, but it was worth it.
Sunday came and we were able to hang out around the Conroe house. We did absolutely nothing...which was fine by me. It was nice to just hang out and talk with my family, especially since Cambrey and Joe were in town.
I am glad to be at home though. Long weekends are fun and everything, but they do wear me out!

Are you seriously going to name the baby "Peanut"?
Good words.
