About 1-5 last night, Brad and I were wide awake due to the POURING down rain. We try to go back to bed, but the light and thunder was so bad we couldn't. I thought my windows were going to break at one point because the thunder shook them so hard.
Meanwhile I was kind of worried because Avery was still asleep. Not making a peep in her room. Every time it thundered, I thought for sure it would wake her up. That was NOT the case.
At one point, I even went into her room just to make sure she was still breathing. I was afraid something was wrong because she wasn't waking up. I guess she is just one of those people who can sleep through anything!
I was finally able to go back to bed about 5, but soon after that my DC called saying that Cy-Fair ISD was closed for today due to flooding. I turned the TV on and according to the news, we got over 8-9 inches of rain in about 2 hours. The cell of rain just sat over us and didn't move for several hours.
So, I guess we will not be having TAKS today. I am not quite sure what they are going to do. I have heard a couple of different scenarios. One is that we will still take the reading tomorrow like it is scheduled, and the math one day next week. Then I heard on the news that they might push bother of them back until Thursday/Friday of this week. Who knows what we will be doing. I guess I will find out when we go back to school tomorrow.
I am off to do some things around the house. I am looking forward to just spending the day at home with my baby girl! :)

That is crazy how much rain Houston has been getting. They are showing it on the news up here! Well glad you get to spend the day with Avery! Looking forward to July!
What the hell!?!?!? I am still mad.
We DID have TAKS today...and only 1 of our 632 students was absent (because he had mono)! Washed out roads and all and we made it to school! Gotta love it.
I am JEALOUS of your day!
