The Beach

Brad had a couple of his architects participating in the sand building contest in Galveston, so we decided we would go down there and check it out. It was EXTREMELY HOT with all the people, cookers going, and the sun blaring. Plus, it didn't help that the tents were blocking the little wind there was. Needless to say, we didn't spend a whole lot of time looking at all the sand castles. There were well over 50, but we only saw about 20 of them before heading back to play in the water (aka...cool down).

Like always, "Avery wants to do it..." She is Ms. Independence right now. She doesn't like when we try to help we with something. This include pulling the wagon. SHE wanted to do it. As you can tell, Uncle Ladd had to help her...without her knowing of course! Haha!

Then it was time for us to head back to our spot and let the kids play for a bit before heading out.

It was a pretty fun day. HOT, but fun! After we let the kids play for a while, we said our goodbyes to Avery and left to go get ready for a birthday party for Brad's boss. Avery was able to stay with Grandpa and enjoy swimming in the ocean some more. I think she REALLY enjoyed it! Even though Mommy doesn't like the beach, we will have to go back some time soon and just enjoy a day out there.
