Everyone dreads going downtown for jury duty, but nobody ever thinks that they will actually be picked to sit on a jury for a trial. Well...I am one of the few "lucky" ones.
Today was the first day of the trial, and it was a VERY long day! You might be thinking "what does a juror do all day?" Well...we SIT and we WAIT!
This morning the trials started around 9:50 and then about 11:00 we took a 45 minute break. Then at 12:20 lunch arrived so we stopped again for an hour. Then we started the afternoon half around 1:30, afternoon break around 2:20 and then released for the day around 3:30.
Nothing was accomplished today in my opinion. Hopefully when we go back in the morning things will be much better.
It is hard to be away from school for 4 days, but at the same time it feels good to be in the "real world" during the work day. I actually get to take an hour lunch, eat real food and talk to me that are older than me. It is pretty nice!
Of course though I am constantly thinking about my kiddos back at school. I am guessing this is what is might feel like when I become a mom and I am away from my children. Thinking about what they are doing, if they are having any problems, etc. Of course a mom's perspective might be a little different.
Well, back to getting things done around the house. I will keep yall updated on just how long this trail will last.

Why have I NEVER been called for jury duty? I think I get denied before they even begin! Should I be offended?
