Brad and I had a wonderful weekend...we did nothing! :)
Actually Brad got home on Friday and went straight to cutting the grass. I was surprised he wanted to do this since he had poured that morning and HAD to be exhausted. So, I decided to go outside and help. I mowed (I had to basically beg him to let me do this...) while he started to edge. I actually enjoy mowing. It is relaxing and at the same time makes me feel like I am not such a bump-on-a-log.
When we finished with the yard, we came inside to take showers and watch a movie. Brad fell asleep early that night (no wondering...he had been up since 3:15 that morning...) and I stayed awake reading my book until 11:00 or so.
Then Saturday Brad left for work while I stayed here and did some laundry and picked up the house a bit. After he got home around 12:30, we watched TV for a little bit and then decided to start painting the shelf in the nursery. The other day, Ladd helped him build it and put it up, but he still needed to get it painted. So off we went to the nursery to try and finish this project.
Once he put the first coat on, we had to let it dry for a couple of hours. This is when I had the GREATEST idea! We could go get snowcones while we waited! :)
If you have talked to me in the past few weeks, you would know that I have been dieing for one really good shaved ice snowcone. The kind they serve at Shivers. It sounds like a simple task to accomplished...but don't let that fool you. For some reason, people do not believe in snowcones around here. There is only one place that has them and they are closed half the time.
To make our trip worth wild (yes the snowcone place is about 15 minutes away...) we also decided to take Rudder to the dog park. Just to let everyone know...my snowcone was AMAZING! I might just have to get me another one sometime soon!
After the family trip to the dog park, we came home to cook pork chops and watch "The Happiest Baby on the Block". A friend told us about this DVD and we thought we would check it out. There were actually some pretty good tips. Any parents-to-be out there should really check into this...
When our bellies were full, it was back to painting the shelf one more time before heading off to bed.
Sunday we woke up and went to the 11:00 church service. After church we had plans to meet some friends for lunch. We decided to meet at The Mason Jar, which is this cute little restaurant my grandmother used to takes us to. It is not quite the same as I remember it being...but it was still good.
On the way home, we passed a Babies R Us so of course we just HAD to stop. Actually, I had a coupon for 15% off that expires in a couple of days, so we thought we would see if there was anything we were "missing".
We got home around 4 and messed around the house until about 6. We were both a little munchy. I got some nachos while Brad ate a bowl of cereal. Not the most nutritional dinner in the world, but it worked for us.
Later on, I was really feeling lazy and wanted to go for a walk. So off we went around the golf course. Brad on roller blades (having Rudder pull him most of the way) and me walking. It was a lot harder for me to finish our walk than it was a few weeks ago. But I managed and I think I slept better last night because of it. Hopefully we will go on another one tonight as well!
I know our weekend sounds boring to most people, but it was really relaxing. We got several things checked off our "To Do" list and just enjoyed being together before this baby arrives. :)

I'm a friend of Taylor's, and have been checking on your blog occasionally. Just wanted to sing the praises of "Happiest Baby..." Our second baby (we now have three) had really bad colic. That DVD gave us so many tricks to try, making sleep possible and life livable!
Best wishes on your new arrival!
