Colorado Trip - Monday

On Monday, Brad left for work pretty early in the morning so that he could get some things accomplished before leaving for Colorado that afternoon. Meanwhile, I took Avery to school for a few hours so that I could finish packing and get the house cleaned up. I had several things on my "To Do" list that needed to be taken care of before we left...pay some bills, set up a doctor's appointment, take care of student loan stuff, call Discover card about the fraud incident, take care of some tax stuff, etc. I was in the office for several hours on Monday morning taking care of everything. I didn't even start cleaning the house or loading the car/getting dressed until 12:30, and I had to leave at 2:00 to go pick up Avery from school.

Right around 2:15, I picked Avery up from school (her teachers had her changed and ready to go with her snack in hand) and then it was off to pick Brad up from work. We got to airport with about an hour to spare. Our plane wasn't scheduled to leave until 5:45. So, we just let Avery run around the airport terminal so that she could let off some energy before boarding the plane.

Once we did take off, Avery was in a GREAT mood. The whole ride up to Colorado (about 2 1/2 hours) she was playing with her baby doll, reading a book, or singing songs. I was nervous that she would be cranky since the plane ride was right at dinner time and didn't land in Colorado until after her bedtime. I guess all my prayers were answered though, because she did AMAZING the whole trip.

Around 8:15 we landed in Colorado and went to retrieve our bags and Avery' car seat from baggage claim. Then about 9:00 we were in the car leaving the airport in Denver heading to Silverthorne (which is a little over an hour away). On the way there, we HAD to stop and get something to eat because we were all starving. We ended up stopping at Panda Express to eat some Chinese food.

Once we finally got "home" (aka Taylor and Allison's condo) it was WAY past Avery's bedtime...yet she was still in a good mood. This is what we found as we walked in the door....
Is that not sweet or what! It made me feel so special that Allison took the time to plan and make something like this for us. Plus, she got Avery a "Big Sister" shirt and an ELMO! Avery really did love her ABC Elmo, she was just getting extremly tired by this point in the night....

As you can see....it was finally time to put Avery down for bed....

After we put her to bed, I walked outside on the porch to look at the snow on the mountains and found this....icicles!!! Look at the size of them...crazy huh?!?Since it was close to midnight and we both had a VERY long day...it was time for Mommy and Daddy to call it a day and go to sleep as well. We had to get our beauty sleep for all the sledding we were going to do the next day!
